There are over 8 Legendary Heavy Weapon Ordnance in Borderlands 4, and each of them offers a unique style of play that can make or break your build. Players who invest in Heavy Weapons and Ordnance will need to know which is best to run around with, especially with certain builds that increase Ordnance damage and their ammo capacity. Below, we’ve outlined what each of these Legendary Heavy Weapon Ordnance in Borderlands 4 does, how effective they can be against bosses and mobs, and where you can get your hands on them.
Sidewinder
How to Get the Sidewinder Heavy Weapon in Borderlands 4
- How to Get: Gilded Glory Pack DLC. Random world loot drop or random chance from Golden Chests.
- Sidewinder
Sidewinder is a fairly competent Rocket Launcher that fires two for the price of one. Players can fire the Sidewinder to see a forward launching projectile, and upon its explosion, a second rocket will fire, but this one seeks out an additional target. It’s not bad by any means, but the fact that it’s locked behind a Pre-Order bonus and a DLC Pack, along with no dedicated way to farm it, makes it a tad underwhelming and skippable.
Sprezzatura
How to Get the Sprezzatura Heavy Weapon in Borderlands 4
- How to Get: Random world loot drop or random chance from Golden Chests.
- Gungnir
Sprezzatura is a Heavy Weapon Rocket Launcher that gets its special effect from North Mythology, as Gungnir is Odin’s spear that will always hit its target. As such, players can expect to fire Sprezzatura to see a rocket thrust upwards, before it seeks out its target and detonates on the ground below. This is basically a homing missile, but it’s a tad finicky. Not only does it come with an underwhelming amount of 2 total shots, but players need to be at an appropriate distance for the lock-on to work, or else the missile is just going to drop down past the enemy. It’s not great for mobbing, but it has its uses against bosses when you want to keep your distance and not worry about aiming.
Ravenfire
How to Get the Ravenfire Heavy Weapon in Borderlands 4
- How to Get: Primordial Guardian Inceptus, Arch of Inceptus, Dissected Plateau, the Fadefields. Available after collecting all 3 Fadefields Vault Key Fragments.
- 621 – Explosions radiate outward from the point of impact.
Ravenfire has an odd pattern from Torgue in which this Rocket Launcher will bend slightly when fired, and when it detonates on impact, it will explode into a small number of clusters for further explosive damage. Ravenfire is fairly underwhelming to shoot, and players might see some decent impact with mobbing, since ad-dense crowds can be exploded, but there are better Heavy Weapon Ordnances out there, and especially better Grenades for mobbing that beat out the Ravenfire.
Inkling
How to Get the Inkling Heavy Weapon in Borderlands 4
- How to Get: The Divisioner, “The Wireworks” Order Bunker, The Low Leys, Terminus Range
- Inkling – Fires bouncing Projectiles that leave an Elemental Splat on bounce.
Inkling is one of the few Legendary Gatling Guns that players can get, and it’s pretty good. When fired, Inkling has a slow rate of fire that shoots out projectiles that cause splash damage, meaning you can hit the target or the floor, and the surrounding area will be covered in the Elemental Type of the bullet fired. If you have a Radiation Inkling, that means you can cover the ground in Radiation to poison enemies over time, which really rewards players who build into abilities in which Ordnance Damage and Elemental Damage are key, since they can fire round after round and continue to poison enemies with immense success.
Gamma Void
How to Get the Gamma Void Heavy Weapon in Borderlands 4
- How to Get: Moon-Maddened Callis, Elpis Orbital Shatterfield, Fallen Crown, Carcadia Burn. Available after Main Mission: Another Day, Another Universe.
- Radiation Exposure – Creates a Singularity for 10s, in which enemies take +40% Radiation Damage over time.
The Gamma Void is essentially a min-black hole, providing players with a devastating Singularity that will suck in enemies and poison them with Radiation Damage over time. This Radiation Damage extends to +40%, so players who have invested in extended Radiation Damage and Ordnance Damage, like for the Vault Hunter Harlowe, will really see the effects that this has, since the Singularity sits there for 10 seconds and won’t stop the pain. The main problem with Gamma Void is its extended cooldown and single ammo charge, as players might see quicker use out of Singularity Grenades, but it’s still fun for sucking in mobs and sticking to bosses.
Disc Jockey
How to Get the Disc Jockey Heavy Weapon in Borderlands 4
- How to Get: Sidney Pointylegs, “The Prospects” Ripper Drill Site, Hungering Plain, the Fadefields.
- Bouncing Biscuits – Energy disc Projectiles bounce up to 5 times, and gain +20% Damage per bounce.
Disc Jockey is very rewarding for players who have invested in Ordnance abilities within their skill trees, as not only does each Energy Disc fired bounce up to 5 times, but each gains +20% Damage per bounce. This Damage can be truly lethal for players to use in the boss arena, as these Energy Discs will be bouncing off of walls and slicing into the boss. This Damage is near infinite, too, when using certain skills that grant extra endless ammo, as players can spam a fast-firing line of Energy Discs with no end.
Streamer
How to Get the Streamer Heavy Weapon in Borderlands 4
- How to Get: The Oppressor, The Killing Floors, Dissected Plateau, the Fadefields. Available after Main Mission: A Lot to Process.
- Delegation – Launches stationary Projectiles that each fire a Beam forward.
Streamer will shoot out Projectiles that don’t like to move once they’ve been shot out, but they will fire a forward beam that connects with enemies and can deal some pretty brutal damage. Each tick of this damage is strong, but with the right skill tree investment, it becomes a source of infinite ammo, meaning players can continue to shoot Projectiles from the Streamer to surround enemies with stationary laser fire. While the Projectiles don’t move, and the enemy has to be pretty still to get caught in the blast, it’s a rewarding weapon used against bosses due to their large size and inability to get away.
Bottled Lightning
How to Get the Bottled Lightning Heavy Weapon in Borderlands 4
- How to Get: Primordial Guardian Origo, Arch of Origo, The Low Leys, Terminus Range. Available after acquiring all 3 Terminus Range Vault Key Fragments.
- Strike Twice
Bottled Lightning fires a slow-moving orb of lightning, and this orb will only move in the direction that it’s fired, and will electrify and Shock anyone in its path. While the radius for Shock isn’t that big, it’s still pretty fun to see enemies affected by it, although if it hits any of them, it will explode. It’s great for mobbing, especially since each tick of explosive and Shock damage will send another rocket back to the magazine, but only for players with the right investment of ammo recharge skills or the Super Shield, since that can passively regenerate ammo, which is definitely beneficial when Bottled Lightning fires pretty slow.
Atling Gun
How to Get the Atling Gun Heavy Weapon in Borderlands 4
- How to Get: Callous Harbinger of Annihilating Death, “Craven’s Nook” Order Bunker, Heart of the Mountain, Terminus Range.
- Whistler
The Atling Gun is a beautiful weapon, as it increases fire rate the longer you hold down the trigger. The Atling Gun absolutely tears through enemy flesh, and with an Ordnance-related build that refunds ammo with use, that’s an infinite-use Heavy Weapon that fires so fast that bosses and mobs are going to be killed within seconds and definitely before you run out of ammo. The fire rate is great, and so is the ammo, and the fact that it can come with different elements means the damage can be extended even further beyond.
