George Weah has revealed his son Timothy almost joined USMNT team-mates Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah at AC Milan prior to joining Juventus.

Weah, who was a former player of AC Milan himself from 1995 to 2000, has revealed son Timothy held talks to join the club prior to signing for Juventus last summer. The 23-year-old completed a £9.4million (€11m/$11.9m) move from LOSC Lille and has since gone on to make 18 appearances for the club across all competitions.

Speaking to , Weah said: "We had spoken to Maldini before about Juve for Tim. It seemed that he was interested in taking him from Lille, then nothing came of it."

Weah has already made 35 appearances for the United States men's national team and could've linked up with international team-mates Pulisic and Musah if he had chosen to join Milan. Juventus do, however, sit at the top of the Serie A table after 21 matches, with a seven point gap separating the two teams.

Weah and his Juventus team-mates will now look to extend their lead at the top of the table, as they prepare to host Empoli on Saturday evening. The Old Lady are undefeated in their last 18 games across all competitions.
